DCE joins UN Habitat & ITDP Conference entitled “Spearheading Cycling Cities in the Africa Region”.

On November 23rd, 2021, the Dutch Cycling Embassy (virtually) joined the UN Habitat and ITDP (Institute for Transport and Development Policy) Conference “Spearheading Cycling Cities in the Africa Region”. In a keynote speech entitled "The Shift to Cycling Cities: How Do We Get There? Lessons From the Netherlands", Managing Director Lucas Harms presented best practices from decades of infrastructure and policy development. He discussed opportunities for implementing these solutions in African cities, not by copying-and-pasting, but by context-specific adaptations according to local geographical, societal, and cultural conditions.
