On 26th and 27th of September 2013 Dutch experts conducted a successful ThinkBike workshop in Chicago. Like in previous ThinkBike workshops Dutch experts worked with local teams to address local challenges to improve the local cycling conditions. Two teams works on Milwaukee Avenue (Division Street to North Avenue), and Monroe Street (the Loop to the Lakefront Trail) and made recommendations for short term and long term improvements. At this occasion Tom Godefrooij of the Dutch Cycling Embassy was interviewed live on Worldview on WBEZ, Chicago’s Public Radio. There was also coverage at the Chicagoist and DNAinfo Chicago. Gabe Klein, Commissioner, and Scott Kubly, Managing Deputy Commissioner, of the Chicago Department of Transportation said they were impressed by the knowledge and enthusiasm of the Dutch experts: “It’s good to hear some fresh Dutch ideas, even if they look a little crazy to us Americans ”.
