On Tuesday September 18th, the DCE received a delegation from the Province of Nakhon Phanom, Thailand. The DCE was introduced to delegates of this province by Adrie Braat, who noticed the upcoming cycling culture when visiting the region last year.
Last Friday, September 7th, a delegation from the city of Vejle visited Amsterdam. These city representatives were here to experience the Dutch way of cycling and wanted to be inspired by our infrastructure for local improvements.
On the 11th of July 2018 the discussion paper "E-Bike safety in The Netherlands" was published, which compares the likelihood and injury severity of crashes between users of e-bikes and classic bikes in The Netherlands.
On Wednesday June 27th, the Dutch Cycling Embassy organized the symposium: “Cities in transition” at their home base in Delft. A day full of interesting lectures and interactive break out sessions, followed by a sunny bike tour through Delft city and surrounding rural area, with a BBQ & drinks at the end.
On August 28th, the Society and Technology Research Group at Mercedes-Benz Daimler visited the office of DCE to ask our experts about their opinion and expectations regarding the developments of future mobility and the cycling challenges in Dutch cities.
Last Thursday, July 5th, we visited Planning the Cycling City Summer School in Amsterdam. 30 students from 15 countries learnt about best practices of Dutch cycling experience and shared their tips for the Netherlands.
Last Tuesday, 26st of June, Dutch Cycling Embassy received a group of 40 students and 7 staff members of Universität Kassel at the YES!Delft building. Ineke Spape, one of most influential professionals in transport planning in The Netherlands and professor at DCE member NHTV – Breda University of Applied Sciences, facilitated a lively introductory lecture on Dutch cycling culture and planning.
On August 21st, the Dutch Cycling Embassy received a delegation from the Raparin region in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Last Thursday and Friday, 28th- 29th of June, cycling experts Erik Tetteroo, Willem Snel, Gwenda Zuurbier and Angela van der Kloof, represented the DCE at the Cycle City Active City conference in Manchester.
Last week (Thursday, 21 June) Dutch Cycling Embassy received a delegation from Switzerland. 14 people from EPB Schweiz attended presentations of DCE cycling experts Johan Diepens (Mobycon) and Folkert Piersma (ProRail) in The Hague.
